"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst."

Procedures of how to lead and host a Skype Prayer session:

  1. Each team will ideally need one person to be the technical host and run Skype and a second person to actually lead the prayer meeting.
  2. Set up a time and day - it is best to try and keep it at the same time so your members will make it part of their routine.
  3. Email a reminder to everyone on the team 24 hours before the meeting.
  4. Purchase credit for your Skype account in case you need to call someone through their cell/telephone line.
  5. Open a Skype Conference Call and create and name a Chat Box for all the participants.
  6. Make sure all the members sign in and can see the chat box.
  7. Calls tend to drop so keep adding members back in as needed.
  1. It's a good idea sometimes to lead the meeting from the chat box by placing everyone's name in an "order for prayer".
  2. You could consider dividing the hour into two segments. The first segment could be led by the same person every time giving the team a sense of continuity. The second half could be led by various team members who could determine a "theme" for prayer for that week.
  3. Be creative and try different things with your time ... some teams use worship music on YouTube. Most of all let the Lord guide you.
  4. We suggest that when the Skype group grows to 12 people you ask three volunteers to leave in order to start another prayer group. 12 is the maximum suggested number of people in any Skype prayer time and around 7 is ideal. Prayer is all about intimacy!
